Charleston Distance Run Scheduled Saturday, Aug. 30

Months of training will be put to the test on Saturday, Aug 30, when a blast from a cannon starts the Charleston Distance Run.
Following are the main events for Distance Run weekend:
* CDR Fun Run For Kids – The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, on Clendenin Street in front of the Charleston Civic Center. Children ages 4
to 12 can participate, and the event is free.

http://www.charlestondistancerun.com/registration.html Registration for the day of the fun run is 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Charleston Civic Center.
* Final Registration, Packet Pickup and Frontier Pasta Party – Registered runners and walkers can pick up their race packets, and final registration is available from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at the Charleston Civic Center. The Frontier Pasta Party for registered participants also will take place that evening at the Civic Center with food served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
* Charleston Distance Run – The 42nd edition of the CDR begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, on Kanawha Boulevard at the West Virginia Capitol in Charleston. The event features a 15-mile run; three-person, 15-mile relay; 5K run; and 5K and 10K walks.
Final race packet and chip pickup is from 6 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the corner of Kanawha Boulevard and California Street. There is no race day registration.
